Santos Infante-Manzanillo Death – Police have identified the man they say killed a woman and then himself on High Ridge Road on Friday. Responding to a Freedom of Information Act request, Danbury Police Capt. Christian Carroccio said Santos Infante-Manzanillo, a 28-year-old city resident, fatally stabbed his partner and then stabbed himself to death when a police officer arrived. Carroccio said police will not be releasing the woman’s name or any dash or body camera footage from the officer who arrived at the scene.
Danbury Police Capt. Joseph LeRose previously said their department had no prior contact with the couple, who officers said were involved in a domestic violence incident that ended with their deaths outside on High Ridge Road. Their bodies were found near a property owned by the city’s Housing Authority.
Police said an officer was patrolling the Mill Ridge Road area around noon Friday when he heard a verbal argument occurring near High Ridge and Scuppo roads. When he pulled his vehicle onto High Ridge Road to investigate, he saw a man standing over a woman in the road, police said.
LeRose said the officer got out of his vehicle to render assistance and the man turned toward the officer, holding a survival-type knife. The man then stabbed himself in the chest, falling to the ground, he said.
The officer discovered the man had stabbed the woman several times, according to LeRose, who added they were both later pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital.
