Sarah McNally Death – An Irish woman was fatally stabbed in the neck at a pub in New York on Saturday night. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Sarah McNally, was working at The Ceili House bar on Grand Avenue in Queens when the attack occurred around 6:30 pm. Ms. McNally, originally from Longford Town, had been living and working in New York for several years. The New York Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an “assault in progress” and found Ms. McNally with stab wounds to the neck, along with another man who had stab wounds to the back and neck.
Both were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, where Ms. McNally was pronounced dead. The man remains in critical condition. The NYPD stated that the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. Reports suggest the incident may be domestic-related, with witnesses mentioning a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Butler expressed shock and sadness in Longford following the tragic news.
He extended condolences to Ms. McNally’s family and emphasized the challenges faced when such incidents occur abroad. The Department of Foreign Affairs has been contacted for comment. Last year, another Irish woman, Denise Morgan, was killed in a murder-suicide in Queens.
