The incident occurred on Saturday, January 6th, in the Parkdale neighborhood, near the intersection of Queen and Callender Streets. Toronto police promptly responded to the area at approximately 11:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man outside who had sustained stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital. The victim has been identified as Scott Robert Partington, a resident of Toronto, making him the city’s second homicide victim of the year. In a news release on January 17th, the police stated that there was no prior connection between the suspect and the victim. The accused, whose identity cannot be disclosed due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was apprehended on January 16th and charged with manslaughter, possession of a prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with a release order.
