Shane Bunn Obituary – The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office has identified Shane Bunn of Marysville as the man who tragically lost his life in a suspected DUI hit-and-run incident. Described by his loved ones as a devoted father, husband, and coach, Bunn’s passing has left a profound impact on those who knew him.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on Feather River Road near Murphy Road when Bunn, along with two other vehicles, was traveling southbound with hazard lights on. Bunn attempted to pass the vehicles in the northbound lane when a fourth driver, Larry Lee Anderson Jr., approached the scene.
Anderson’s vehicle, while speeding, attempted to overtake all three vehicles, resulting in a collision that sent Bunn’s vehicle down an embankment and into a concrete culvert. Tragically, Anderson fled the scene after the crash.
