Shelby Binney Death – A man from Oklahoma was apprehended last week by the authorities after he fled from the location of a car accident that tragically claimed the life of his 16-year-old daughter. According to KJRH, a television station in the Tulsa area, the Bixby police promptly responded to the incident, which involved a single-car rollover crash occurring at approximately 9:20 p.m. on January 11 near the intersection of 88th and 171st streets.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenage girl, identified as Shelby Binney, who had been ejected from the vehicle. Binney was immediately transported to a hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead by the police. Additionally, two other children and an adult were also taken to a hospital for medical attention.
The police reported that Binney’s father, Elliott, initially left the scene but was subsequently located in Checotah and apprehended. As per KJRH, he is now facing charges of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, first-degree manslaughter, and passing a vehicle in a no-passing zone.
According to the booking and arrest report, officers discovered an unsealed bottle of vodka near the passenger door. Elliott Binney informed the police that they had purchased the bottle, and he had consumed a gulp of it while driving his family home.
“These situations are tragic in every sense of the word,” expressed Bixby Police Chief Todd Blish to KJRH.
