Sienna Farr, Colleen Cohan Obituary, Death – Three Maryland residents who died and three others were injured in a house fire last week in North Carolina’s Outer Banks were identified by officials Monday. The dead have been identified as Sienna Farr, 13, of Silver Spring, and couple Colleen Cohan, 64, and William Deeg, 68, of Ashton.
Farr’s mother Laura Volk, 48, and her boyfriend, David Brewer, 55, were being treated in the burn department of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Virginia on Monday. Rachel Tackett, mass communications officer for the city of Kill Devil Hills, said both are in stable condition.
Volk’s daughter, Sadie Farr, 16, was also injured. She was treated locally at Outer Banks Hospital and was discharged last Friday. All were vacationing at a waterfront rental that was engulfed by fire in the pre-dawn hours Friday along the Northern Virginia Dare Trail. Two neighboring properties were also damaged.
According to Tackett, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. “Many hearts across the Outer Banks and Maryland communities need healing following this tragic incident,” she said. The Kill Devil Hills Fire Police, Dare County Fire Police and State Bureau of Investigation are investigating.
