Stephanie Peterson Obituary – The police are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 64-year-old pedestrian earlier this month. Stephanie Peterson, a resident of Shelton, was struck by a car while crossing the street near Howe Avenue and White Street shortly before midnight on January 6th, as confirmed by Police Det. Richard Bango in an email to Patch.
The driver involved in the crash has been identified and is cooperating with the authorities, according to Bango. He also mentioned that an arrest related to this incident is expected to be made soon, although an exact timeline was not provided.
According to the Shelton Herald, Peterson, who had been working at Stop and Shop in Ansonia, was on her way home when she was hit by the car just a few hundred feet away from her residence in Shelton.
To honor Peterson, a candlelight vigil was recently held. She was a beloved member of the community for many years, having grown up in Bridgeport, as reported by the Shelton Herald.
