Thomas Amato Obituary – Thomas Amato, a 71-year-old resident of Portland, has been identified as the pedestrian who tragically lost his life in a collision on February 4th in Southeast Portland. The Portland Police Bureau promptly notified Amato’s family of this devastating news.
The incident occurred at around 5:44 p.m. on Sunday, February 4th, when officers from the East Precinct responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 9700 block of Southeast Woodstock Boulevard. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the lifeless body of an adult male. Fortunately, the driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
To ensure a thorough examination of the incident, the Major Crash Team was activated and took charge of the investigation. As a result, Southeast Woodstock Boulevard, spanning from Southeast 97th Avenue to Southeast 101st Avenue, was temporarily closed for several hours.
