Thomas Antoine Death – The man who was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Peoria, just north of Interstate 74, has been identified by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office. Thomas Antoine, a 30-year-old resident of Peoria, was pronounced dead at 2:18 a.m. at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. He had been shot over an hour earlier in the 2100 block of North Gale Avenue. Upon arrival at the hospital, Antoine was unresponsive and showed no signs of pulse or breathing.
According to the Peoria Police Department, Antoine was discovered at the scene inside a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. Both the police department and the coroner’s office made efforts to save his life, both at the scene and at the hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
The Peoria Police Department has initiated an investigation into the shooting, with their criminal investigations division, crime scene unit, and patrol unit taking the lead. At this time, no information regarding a potential suspect has been released.
