Timothy Kent McDaniel Obituary – A fatal collision occurred in Lincoln County early Wednesday, resulting in the death of a Denver resident. According to state troopers, the incident involved a head-on crash between a tractor-trailer and a 2008 Scion. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol promptly responded to the accident, which took place on North Carolina 75 near Ralph Ward Trail, a few miles east of Lincolnton, at approximately 3:15 a.m. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that the Scion had veered across the center line and collided with the eastbound Peterbilt 18-wheeler.
The driver of the Scion, identified as 36-year-old Timothy Kent McDaniel Jr., tragically lost his life and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted that McDaniel was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer escaped unharmed. After conducting their investigation, troopers determined that impairment and speed were not contributing factors to the accident. Consequently, no charges are expected to be filed in connection with the collision.
