Trevor Courtney, Idrissa Ndongo Obituary – Baton Rouge homicide detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sherwood Hollow Court on Friday afternoon. The victims of the shooting have been identified as Trevor Courtney, 19, and Idrissa Ndongo, 18.
According to Sgt. Darren Ahmed of the Baton Rouge Police, the progress of the investigation is hindered by the silence of the witnesses. Ahmed expressed concern for the safety of the community, emphasizing that bullets do not discriminate and can harm anyone, including children and the elderly. He urged the public to assist the police in identifying a suspect and determining the motive behind these shootings.
The incident took place at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Friday, resulting in the deaths of Courtney and Ndongo. Another individual sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
This shooting marks the third incident that the police have responded to at the apartment complex within a span of two days. In the early hours of Thursday morning, two men were found with gunshot wounds to the head and were in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital. Additionally, on Friday morning at 10 a.m., officers were called to the complex due to reports of shots fired, but no injuries were reported.
Sgt. Ahmed expressed frustration at the recurring violence, stating that the police will consider increasing active patrols in the area and utilizing technology to monitor police presence.
At present, the motive and suspects behind the Friday afternoon shooting remain unknown.
