Tyler King, Bradley Robb Obituary – Two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision on a Washington County highway on Sunday evening. The victims have been identified as Tyler King, 26, from Decatur, and Bradley Robb, 43, from Richview, by the Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger’s office on Monday. Both individuals were declared deceased at the scene at 9:42 p.m., as stated in a press release.
The Illinois State Police reported that the accident took place in the northbound passing lane of U.S. 51, with one of the vehicles traveling south in the northbound lane. King was driving a Chevrolet Malibu, while Robb was driving a Ford Mustang, which was completely engulfed in flames upon the arrival of first responders. According to the coroner’s office, neither individual was wearing a seatbelt.
There were no other passengers in either vehicle, confirmed by the police. Both lanes of U.S. 51 were closed for several hours, and traffic was redirected through Irvington while the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation. The coroner’s office indicated that both individuals likely succumbed to blunt-force trauma. Toxicology samples were obtained, with results expected to be available within six weeks.
