Tyler Stansberry Death, FORT DODGE, Iowa — – The four police officers who were present at the scene where a suspect was shot and killed have been identified by officials. Last weekend, 24-year-old Tyler Stansberry from Fort Dodge was fatally shot by the police after allegedly charging at them with two knives. The officers had responded to a call regarding an individual who was behaving uncontrollably and had harmed a dog.
Upon entering the residence, Stansberry reportedly ran towards the officers while brandishing the knives, resulting in one of the officers shooting him. The Fort Dodge police department has now disclosed the names of the four officers involved in the incident:
1. Officer Nicholas Ruggles
2. Sergeant Matthew Webb
3. Officer Andrew Lane
4. Officer Matthew English
As the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations continues to conduct a thorough inquiry into the shooting, all four officers remain on critical incident leave.
