The incident occurred at approximately 9:29 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, on the westbound platform of the SEPTA station located at 1500 Market Street. Welles was immediately taken to Thomas Jefferson Hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, according to the police.
SEPTA Police swiftly identified and apprehended two suspects in connection with Welles’ shooting. The individuals charged are Quadir Humphrey, 18, and Zaire Wilson, 16.
