Wahid Nazario, Frank Rosario Vazquez Obituary – The two men who were fatally shot after leaving a bar in northeast Rochester over the weekend have been identified by the police. Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department stated that officers responded to a double shooting on North Goodman Street, near Norton Street, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered two men in their 40s who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The victims, Wahid Nazario, 49, and Frank Rosario Vazquez, 43, both residents of Rochester, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Umbrino. The incident occurred as Nazario and Vazquez were leaving a bar located at 1730 N. Goodman St. and heading towards their parked vehicle on North Goodman Street. It was during this time that they were shot and killed.
Umbrino emphasized that no charges have been filed in relation to the double shooting and that it does not appear to be a random act of violence. The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting to determine the motive.
The Rochester Police Department’s Open Data Portal reports that this incident brings the total number of homicides in Rochester this year to eight. Additionally, two of these homicides involve individuals who were severely injured in unrelated assaults in 2023 but succumbed to their injuries this year.
