Wilber Alvarado Perez Obituary, Death – ABC6 / FOX28 is learning much more about the teen boy killed in a violent three-car wreck on SR-161. 15-year-old Wilber Alvarado Perez was the victim in last month’s crash that happened near East Dublin Granville Road in north Columbus.
“He was a loved and cherished son. The family is distraught mourning the loss of this loved one,” said Theran Selph, the family’s attorney.
Selph says the teen was in the front passenger seat when the car was hit and took the brunt of the impact. Loved ones are too shaken up to speak, but Selph gave us more insight into who the teen was.
He was a good kid. He was in high school. The family appreciates the support of their family and friends and community who have reached out, and who are not only giving them space but also giving them space for grieving,” Selph added.
Our crews were there not long after that crash. All cars involved were heavily damaged, and debris was scattered everywhere.
Selph also told us that the driver of the car Alvarado-Perez was in was badly hurt, and is fighting to recover.
We’re working with an accident reconstruction expert to determine the speed of the oncoming traffic that stuck and killed my client. It seems to us that oncoming traffic was traveling over the stated 45 mph, given the amount of flips that the black SUV executed following the accident.
Columbus police are still working on the investigation.
