William Clough Death – The Leesburg Police Department reported that a 65-year-old man from Tavares lost his life in a collision involving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a car driven by an 88-year-old woman from Fruitland Park. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Tomato Hill Road.
According to authorities, the woman was driving a 2020 Honda Fit and was exiting the RaceTrac gas station onto U.S. Highway 441 south when her vehicle crashed into the 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling south on Highway 441. The motorcyclist, identified as William Clough, was rushed to UF Health-Leesburg but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing, and individuals who witnessed the crash are urged to reach out to the Leesburg Police Department at 352-787-2121. Traffic in the area was redirected for approximately three hours following the accident.
