Zinyetta Z. Morgan Death – The driver who lost their life in a vehicle collision on Tuesday evening at Erie Canal and Lockport roads has been identified by authorities. Zinyetta Z. Morgan, a 24-year-old Indiana State University student from St. Louis, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 6 p.m. According to preliminary investigations, Morgan’s vehicle collided with another vehicle before veering off the road and hitting a large pole.
The other driver involved in the incident received treatment from the Terre Haute Fire Department for non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The police have stated that the incident is still under investigation, and additional information will be provided if possible. Indiana State University expressed their sorrow over the loss of Morgan, describing her as a beloved student majoring in African and African American studies with a minor in early childhood.
She had also participated in various organizations and activities on campus, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), the Student African American Sisterhood (SAAS) group, and the Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center. The university president, Deborah Curtis, extended condolences to Morgan’s family, friends, and those who knew her, emphasizing the university’s support through the University Counseling Center for anyone in need.
