Cyndee Taylor Dutton Obituary – A woman lost her life in a tragic incident in southwest Charlotte on Saturday night. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on South Tryon Street near Yorkshire Drive shortly after midnight on Sunday, Feb. 11. The victim, 24-year-old Cyndee Taylor Dutton, sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle and was rushed to the hospital by Medic. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
During the investigation of the crash, the driver responsible for hitting Dutton contacted 911 to report the incident. The driver, identified as Michael Anthony Putnam, had pulled over on Interstate 77 near Clanton Road when he made the call. CMPD officers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered Putnam with a Chevrolet Equinox that had sustained significant damage to its front end.
CMPD alleges that Putnam was under the influence of an impairing substance, which played a role in the collision. Consequently, Putnam was arrested on-site and charged with felony death by motor vehicle. He was subsequently taken to the Mecklenburg County jail for processing.
