David Fortin Obituary – The identification of the individual who tragically lost their life after being struck by a train in Little Silver last Thursday evening has been confirmed. As stated by a spokesperson from NJ Transit, the deceased individual is David Fortin, a 67-year-old resident of Eatontown.
The unfortunate incident occurred at around 5 p.m. when Fortin was hit by a train from the North Jersey Coast line. The collision took place at the intersection of White Road and the railroad tracks in Little Silver.
It is believed that Fortin was walking at the time of the accident and was not inside a vehicle. Prior to this incident, Fortin had worked for Amtrak for 25 years, specifically in high voltage electrical maintenance at Penn Station in New York City.
Little Silver Police Chief Paul Halpin expressed his condolences, describing the incident as a tragic and unfortunate event. He also emphasized that there is no immediate danger to individuals who cross the train tracks or walk along White Road. The investigation into this incident is currently being conducted by NJ Transit.
