Derek Hall Death – On January 13, a tragic incident occurred at the Grand Osage Wildlife Area in Oswego, resulting in the death of a woman. The Labette County Sheriff’s Office, along with Kansas Wildlife & Parks officers, responded to a call around 4:41 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the investigation, a man named Derek Hall and his wife had just finished deer hunting and returned to their vehicle. Derek placed his rifle on the back seat of their pickup and proceeded to unload it. However, when he switched the rifle off the “safe” mode, it accidentally discharged, striking his wife, Christina Hall.
Christina was immediately transported to Labette Health, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of firearm safety and the need for utmost caution when handling firearms.
