Diana Haddick Death – The McHenry County coroner’s office has officially named the victim of the fatal fire that occurred early Wednesday morning in a press release issued on Thursday. Diana Haddick, aged 73, was discovered deceased in her residence following the fire. The sheriff of McHenry County contacted the coroner at approximately 4:20 a.m., and Haddick was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition, a firefighter sustained a minor injury while extinguishing the flames, as confirmed by officials.
An autopsy was conducted by the coroner’s office on Wednesday, with toxicology reports currently pending. Coroner Michael Rein stated on Thursday that the exact cause of Haddick’s death has yet to be determined. The coroner’s office is collaborating with the sheriff’s office, McHenry Township Fire Department, and State Fire Marshal as part of the ongoing investigation, as outlined in the news release.
