Estrella Cortez Rodriguez Death – According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a tragic incident occurred on Friday night in Robeson County, resulting in the death of a child. The crash took place at the intersection of Balance Farm Road and Shaw Mill Road, prompting the arrival of a trooper just after 9:30 p.m.
Upon reaching the scene, the trooper discovered that a 1999 GMC pickup truck had veered across the center line, colliding with a 2005 Dodge passenger car. As a result of the impact, the Dodge veered off the road and collided with a ditch. This information was provided in a news release from the highway patrol.
Regrettably, the left rear passenger of the Dodge, a young girl aged between 9 and 10 years old, succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital. She has been identified as Estrella Cortez Rodriguez.
The driver of the Dodge was also taken to the hospital for treatment, but fortunately, their condition is expected to improve. The driver of the GMC, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries.
The highway patrol has stated that neither speed nor impairment appeared to be contributing factors in the crash.
