Gary Lehmeyer Obituary – The 76-year-old man who was found dead in his home on Monday has been identified as Gary Lehmeyer, according to the Faribault police. Officers discovered Lehmeyer’s body after receiving a welfare check request from a concerned caller, as he had missed an appointment. Upon investigation, it was determined that Lehmeyer’s car was missing from the property, but it was later located in Iowa by law enforcement.
The police chief, John Sherwin, stated that few details have been released regarding the case, including the cause of death, as the investigation is still ongoing. However, Sherwin did mention that Lehmeyer had suffered traumatic injuries. Authorities believe that the homicide was not a random act, indicating that there was some form of relationship between Lehmeyer and his attacker.
In order to gather more information, the police have requested assistance from the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
