Gary Neil, Timothy Lane Wilcox Death – Three individuals were apprehended, and the victims of the double murder that occurred in the northwestern Oklahoma town of Freedom on Thursday have been identified by authorities. In the early hours of Thursday, Woods County deputies promptly responded to a residence near Saddlehorn Drive and Dusty Trail in Freedom following reports of potential gunshots.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered one deceased victim and another in critical condition. Officials from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that life-saving measures were administered, but unfortunately, the second victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The victims have been identified as Gary Neil Bradt, aged 70, and Timothy Lane Wilcox, aged 19, according to OSBI officials.
Law enforcement successfully located and detained three suspects for questioning, subsequently leading to their arrest on charges of first-degree murder. The OSBI has disclosed that all three suspects, a 23-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and a 17-year-old girl, have been incarcerated in the Woodward County Jail.
As formal charges have not yet been filed, KOCO 5 has refrained from releasing the names of the suspects. The shocking double homicide has left the approximately 200 residents of Freedom in a state of disbelief and distress. Nancy Harger, a resident of the neighborhood where the incident occurred, expressed, “Freedom will never be the same again.”
Jesse Schroeder, a trustee of Freedom town, conveyed his hope that this tragic event does not leave a lasting negative impact on the community, as Freedom is renowned for its other positive attributes.
