Jamar Dewan Wiley Obituary – Around 8:56 a.m., authorities were called to a stabbing incident on North Liberty Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old man from Greensboro, Jamar Dewan Wiley, who had been stabbed in the chest. Later that Tuesday evening, Wiley succumbed to his injuries from the stabbing. According to investigators, the victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with two individuals when one of them stabbed him and fled the scene in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
At approximately 9:13 a.m., officers responded to another stabbing report on North Patterson Avenue. They found a 26-year-old man from Kernersville with a non-life-threatening stab wound. The man was attacked while walking in the area by an individual who then drove away in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
By utilizing video footage from Liberty Street and Patterson Avenue, investigators were able to link the two incidents. The Chevrolet Tahoe was located at Northwest Boulevard and Marshall Street with two occupants inside.
Following a traffic stop, Jeffrey Hugo Silva, 30, of Winston-Salem, and 27-year-old Oscar Daniel Noyola-Lopez were taken into custody in connection with both stabbings.
Authorities have stated that this was not a random act of violence.
Noyola was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill/inflict serious injury and misdemeanor going armed to the terror of the public. After Wiley’s passing, Noyola was additionally charged with felony murder.
Silva faces charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill/inflict serious injury and felony accessory after the fact.
Both individuals were denied bond.
