Jamauri Griffin Obituary – The Knoxville Police Department officers shot and killed a man over the weekend who had a previous gun-related charge, as per a police report obtained by WVLT News. The officer-involved shooting occurred on Saturday morning, as reported by KPD. Responding to a home on Santala Drive, officers encountered an armed man who fired his weapon, leading the officers to respond with gunfire.
The man, identified as 25-year-old Jamauri Griffin on Monday, was involved in another incident detailed in a police report from February. In that incident, Griffin fired shots at a woman at the same residence.
According to the report, officers found the woman at the home on Feb. 7. She informed them that after a disagreement with Griffin, she attempted to leave but he shot at her car’s back tire with a handgun.
The woman further stated that Griffin had left the home, returned, and then left again. Griffin faced charges of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
