James L Mauney Death, The Nez Pearce County Coroner’s Office has identified the first homicide victim connected to an escape from an Idaho prison as an 83-year-old man named James L Mauney. The body of Mr. Mauney was discovered in Leland, Idaho, and it has been revealed that he was from the Juliaetta area, as stated in an official news release. On Thursday, the Boise, Idaho Police Department successfully apprehended Skylar Meade and Nicholas Umphenour after Meade escaped from prison while receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
While the officers were preparing to transport Umphenour back to a correctional facility, he launched an attack on the corrections officers, firing shots and injuring two of them. The fugitives remained at large for slightly over 24 hours before being apprehended. It is believed that two individuals lost their lives during the prison escape, with Mr. Mauney being one of the victims.
