Jose Luis Villasenor Cervantes Obituary, Death – The Santa Rosa Police Department has confirmed to KTVU that the man who was killed in a police chase on Monday had a significant criminal record and had faced multiple deportations before his death. The deceased individual has been identified as Jose Luis Villasenor Cervantes. According to the police, they received a call regarding a man who was allegedly displaying a rifle at a nightclub. Deputies located the man and he subsequently led them on a pursuit.
During the chase, Cervantes intermittently stopped and fired multiple shots at the deputies before continuing to flee, as stated by the police. In response, the deputies returned fire, leading to the man crashing his vehicle nearby. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pursuit resulted in injuries to four deputies, one of whom sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while another suffered a head injury.
Cervantes had an extensive criminal background, which encompassed charges such as assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm), willful cruelty to a child, criminal threats, domestic violence, DUI, and narcotics-related arrests. Additionally, he had been deported on four occasions since 2009.
