Justin Kitchen Death – The individual who lost his life in a shooting involving law enforcement officers in Rankin County has been named as Justin Kitchen, aged 33. Reports suggest that he discharged his firearm at the authorities when they arrived in response to a report of a man making threats against his family members. As per a statement from the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, the event occurred on Sunday at approximately 4 p.m. on Walker Drive near McCullough-McLin Road in Florence.
Upon the arrival of deputies at the location, Kitchens purportedly opened fire on them. In response, they returned fire, resulting in him being wounded. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away due to his injuries.
Fortunately, no deputies sustained serious injuries during the altercation. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has assumed control of the investigation.
