Lora Farley Obituary, Death – Lora Farley, a 36-year-old woman from Charleston, was discovered deceased inside a residence on Chandler Drive on January 18th. The police investigation revealed that she had been beaten to death with a vase. Izak Surface, a 21-year-old individual from Charleston, was identified as a person of interest in the case. Surface was apprehended on Sunday evening due to an unrelated outstanding warrant for third-offense domestic battery. This incident involved Surface pushing his 74-year-old grandmother down a flight of stairs at the same Chandler Drive home on January 3rd. The victim suffered multiple fractures in her pelvis as a result of the incident.
When the police arrived at the residence on Thursday, they found Farley’s body lying on a bed in an upstairs bedroom, wrapped in a blanket. They observed blood on the blanket, bed, and wall, as well as an injury on the back of Farley’s head that appeared to be caused by blunt-force trauma. Surface’s family members informed the police that he had brought Farley to the home a few days prior and had been acting strangely before leaving on Thursday. Several hours later, the family members discovered Farley’s lifeless body when they went to check on her.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence, and during the search, a large pool of blood was found on the bedroom floor, near a corner, along with a vase that was concealed by a blanket. The bloodstains on the wall were consistent with Ms. Farley’s hair, which was also found at the scene. An autopsy confirmed that Farley had sustained at least three blows to the head with a blunt object, one of which matched the shape of the large vase in the bedroom. Additionally, she had blunt force injuries and abrasions on her hands.
