Max Dixon, Mason Rist Obituary – Two teenagers who were fatally stabbed in Bristol have been identified as Max Dixon, 16, and Mason Rist, 15. The attack took place in Knowle West on Saturday night, and both victims later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Avon and Somerset Police have reported that the assailants fled the scene in a car. Currently, a 44-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested and are currently in custody. Bristol Commander Supt Mark Runacres stated during a press conference that additional suspects are being sought in connection with the incident. A murder investigation has been initiated, and the police have seized a vehicle.
A vigil was held on Sunday evening at the location of the stabbings, where community members gathered to light candles. Supt Runacres mentioned that the police would be visiting the school attended by the teenagers, and the first arrest was made within an hour of the incident.
He also expressed the police’s interest in speaking to passengers who were on a bus on Ilminster Avenue at the time of the stabbings. Supt Runacres extended his condolences to the families of the victims and assured them that specialist family liaison officers would be assigned to provide support and updates on the investigation. A cordon has been established on Ilminster Avenue for forensic searches and other inquiries, resulting in a significant police presence in the area.
The formal identification of the victims is yet to take place, and a forensic post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course. Supt Runacres mentioned that several witnesses have already been identified.
