Mia Payne Obituary, Death – The tragic passing of 16-year-old Mia Aliza Payne has left the close-knit community of Doniphan, Missouri, in mourning. Mia’s life was cut short in a fatal car accident on September 3, 2023, leaving her family and friends devastated. Born on December 18, 2006, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Mia was the beloved daughter of Scott Payne and the late Rachel Todd.
Throughout her life, Mia was fortunate to have an extended family who showered her with love and care, including her stepmother, Annya Hart, and other parents, Kathy and Carl Harp, Jeff and Judy Hale, and Lindsey Roberson. This support network reflected the warmth and affection Mia radiated in her short but impactful life. Mia was known for her infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day and her laughter that had the power to bring joy to those around her.
She had a zest for life and cherished her time spent on the Current River, indulging in activities like fishing and hunting. Mia also had a deep love for animals and enjoyed nurturing her garden. Her artistic talents shone through her creations in arts and crafts, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful items that will forever remind her loved ones of her creativity and passion.
Mia is survived by her sisters, Faith Hill, Deni Hill (William) Nance, Hunter Mathis, Stormy Hill, Tesla Payne, and Vivian Payne, as well as her brothers, Gunner Hill, Brandon Tristen, Shawn Ford, and Johnny Payne. Her great-grandmothers, Willa Harp and Linda Caldwell, and great-grandparents, AB and Kay Hale, cherished her presence. She is also mourned by her aunt, Jamie Thompson, and a host of other family members and friends who held a special place in her heart.
Visitation to pay tribute to Mia’s memory will be held at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 9, 2023, starting at noon, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Carl Harp, and Mia will find her final resting place in Macedonia Cemetery. While Mia’s physical presence may be gone, her spirit and the fond memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
