Michael Kitchen Obituary – According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, a hit-and-run incident occurred in Athens on April 30, resulting in the death of a 34-year-old man. The police officer, who was in the vicinity of West Broad Street near Beech Haven Church, heard the crash and promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the officer discovered an unresponsive man lying on the road. Tragically, the man, identified as Michael Kitchen of Madison, was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.
The driver responsible for the hit-and-run, identified as 21-year-old Benhur Tesfair of Lilburn, was eventually located and taken into custody by the authorities.
In a separate development, a lawsuit has been filed against several prominent figures in Fulton County, including Commissioner Marvin Arrington, District Attorney Fani Willis, the Fulton County Ethics Board, and Fulton County itself. The plaintiff in this case is Georgia Rep. Mesha Mainor, who is involved in a criminal case related to stalking. Mainor alleges that Commissioner Arrington initially mishandled the case, and later, DA Willis also failed to handle it appropriately.
