Orlando Feliciano Obituary – A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to support the family of the man who tragically lost his life on December 28 at Fenix Auto Parts in Woodbridge. The deceased has been identified as Orlando Feliciano, aged 38, who leaves behind his wife and two children – a 12-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. The family resides in Somerset.
According to the Woodbridge Police, Feliciano was an employee at Fenix Parts on Leesville Avenue in Avenel, where the unfortunate workplace accident occurred. At 5:31 a.m., he was fatally crushed by a loading ramp. It is believed that Feliciano was underneath the ramp when it fell on him, as stated by the Woodbridge Police last week. The cause of the loading ramp’s collapse is currently under investigation. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has taken over the investigation and is expected to release its official findings within six months.
Feliciano had been in a 15-year-long relationship with his wife, Carmen. Described as a blessing to their church and community, his friends and family mourn his loss as a tragic accident. The untimely death of this husband and father has resulted in significant emotional and financial hardships for the family. They are appealing to the public for assistance by making donations to support his two children through the GoFundMe page. “Any contribution would be greatly appreciated by Carmen and the two kids, and it would be seen as a blessing from the Lord,” expressed his loved ones.
A celebration of Feliciano’s life will take place on Monday night, January 8, at the church the family attended in Somerset. Interestingly, the same Fenix Parts shop, known as Fenix Parts Rahway despite its location in Woodbridge, has previously faced penalties for workplace safety violations. NJ.com reported that in 2020, the autobody shop received three citations from the U.S. Department of Labor for failing to provide adequate respiratory protection to its workers. These violations were deemed “serious,” resulting in Fenix Parts being fined $5,783.
