Roger Pike Obituary, Death – It has come to our attention that the patriarch of a prominent Newfoundland and Labrador business dynasty has passed away. On Wednesday, the day he died away, Roger Pike had lived to the ripe old age of 82 years. The Pike Group of Companies was initially created by Pike in the year 1983. During this period, he also founded Labrador Airways, which would later become Air Labrador.
Pike was the pilot of an antique DC-3 aircraft that landed on the ancestral home of his family in Harbour Grace. The home was built in the 1940s. In addition to this, he bestowed onto the people of Harbour Grace the “Spirit of Harbour Grace” in order to honor the town’s rich aviation heritage. In addition to this, he was the proprietor of Notre Dame Seafoods,
which included processing factories in both Twillingate and Comfort Cove. Furthermore, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Harvey & Company, a business that had been in existence continuously since 1767. Pike was given the Order of St. George and elevated to the post of Honorary Colonel of the 103rd Search and Rescue Squadron in Gander as a result of his achievements.
