Sandra Barbre Obituary – One woman has passed away while another remains in critical condition following a collision between their car and a light rail train in Phoenix at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sandra Barbre, aged 76, was behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the accident, as stated in an official report.
Unfortunately, Barbre succumbed to her injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed by the authorities, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Although the specifics of the passenger’s injuries were not provided, law enforcement has confirmed that she is currently undergoing medical treatment.
According to the police, the train was heading westbound near the junction of 21st Street and Washington Street and had the right of way when the collision occurred.
The investigation indicates that Barbre was traveling southbound when her car was hit by the train. It remains unclear whether the vehicle was turning from Washington Street (a one-way street) or exiting from southbound Interstate 10.
There is no evidence of impairment playing a role in the incident, and the investigation is still ongoing.
