Severine Bouckongou Death – A woman who managed to escape a fiery crash in southwest Lincoln has been identified by state troopers. The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. when a Nebraska State Patrol trooper was alerted by a pedestrian about a major collision at the intersection of Highway 77 and Pioneers Boulevard.
According to the troopers, their investigation revealed that a Chevy Cruze had broken down in the southbound lanes. The driver, Severine Bouckongou, aged 44, exited the vehicle just before a Honda Civic collided with the Cruze, resulting in a fire.
In an attempt to avoid the crash, Bouckongou was struck by a northbound Chevy Tahoe. Upon the trooper’s arrival, several individuals were providing emergency aid to Bouckongou. She was subsequently transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The two occupants of the Civic were also taken to the hospital, but their injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
