Summer Reid Death – A woman from New Mexico tragically lost her life in a collision that occurred in Esmeralda County. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, their Troopers promptly responded to the incident, which took place approximately 35 miles west of Tonopah on May 8, around 11:00 p.m.
Upon conducting an initial investigation, it was determined that a black 2024 Chevy Tahoe was traveling in the wrong direction on US-6, specifically in the eastbound travel lane. Simultaneously, a Kia Optima was steering to the right while the Tahoe driver steered to the left. As a result, the front of the Tahoe collided with the left front of the Kia.
Tragically, the driver of the Kia, identified as 22-year-old Summer Reid from Iyanbito, New Mexico, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. It is important to note that there were no other individuals present in either vehicle.
