Talat Jehan Khan Obituary, Death – A former western Washington pediatrician was stabbed to death at her apartment complex in Texas over the weekend. Talat Jehan Khan, 52, was found with multiple stab wounds at a picnic table in the common area of her complex in Conroe, Texas, a suburb of Houston, on Oct. 28. The Conroe Police Department (CPD) said witnesses gave responding officers a good description of the suspect, who was caught a short distance away.
The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Miles Fridrich, has been charged with murder and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $500,000 bond, according to the Montgomery District Attorney’s Office. There’s no information yet to determine a motive for the fatal attack.
Khan was a Muslim-American pediatrician who practiced medicine in western Washington for several years. She was most recently working at Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Monroe before moving to Texas in the summer, according to friends of Khan who spoke to KOMO News via social media messages Monday.
According to her LinkedIn page, Khan was most recently working at Texas Children Pediatric in Conroe, Texas. The Muslim American Leadership Alliance posted on its Facebook page saying Khan was “loved by her family members as well as her hundreds of patients.” The organization said their hearts are with Khan’s family and the Muslim-American community in Houston.
No further information about the investigation into the homicide has been released at this time.
