William Brown, Doey Choi Death – The identities of the rider and passenger who tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle accident in Sydney’s west have been revealed. William Brown, 26, and Doey Choi, 24, were thrown across the road when a Toyota Carolla turned in front of their motorcycle convoy at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Worth Street, Greenacre.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, both individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the car was taken to Westmead Hospital in critical condition, but is now in a stable condition. Assistant Commissioner Brett McFadden of NSW Police stated that preliminary investigations indicate that neither the rider nor the driver should have been on the road.
Brown, being a provisional rider, was not permitted to have a passenger, and the Toyota driver was suspended. McFadden expressed frustration at the preventable nature of the incident and highlighted the speed of the motorcycle rider as a significant contributing factor. He also criticized the lack of assistance from other members of the motorcycle convoy, as only a few stopped to help.
Worth Street was temporarily closed as police initiated an investigation into the accident. Anyone with dashcam footage is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
