Abraham Lemus, Adam Joy Obituary – The individuals who tragically lost their lives in a suspected drug-related incident at a residence in South Lake Tahoe on Monday have now been officially identified. The coroner has named them as Abraham Lemus, aged 32, Adam Joy, aged 35, Keely Pereira, aged 33, all residents of South Lake Tahoe, and Clifford Joy, aged 30, from Douglas County.
Upon receiving a report of an unresponsive individual requiring CPR, the police promptly responded to a home on Roger Ave. in the early morning hours of February 12th. Upon arrival, they discovered two deceased individuals and two others who were receiving life-saving measures, unfortunately without success.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department has revealed that the substance found at the scene has tested presumptively positive for fentanyl. However, further investigations, including autopsies and toxicology reports, are still pending. During the incident, two additional individuals were present in the home and are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
In light of the ongoing national discussion surrounding the dangers of fentanyl, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department strongly advises against the use of illegally obtained controlled substances due to the potentially fatal consequences they pose.
Naloxone (Narcan) is a medication that can save lives by rapidly and temporarily reversing opioid overdoses, including those caused by heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioids. It is important to note that counterfeit pills or other street drugs, such as MDMA or cocaine, may contain lethal doses of fentanyl. Naloxone is user-friendly and portable, and it can be administered without medical training or authorization. It can be used on anyone at risk, as it has no adverse effects on individuals without opioids in their system.
