Antavius Holton Death – Authorities have reported that a man was killed and a 9-year-old girl was injured during a shooting incident that took place inside a Walmart in Georgia. The man, identified as Antavius Holton, was taken to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The young girl, on the other hand, was also shot but is expected to survive.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the suspect, 19-year-old Adrian Jelks, is currently at large and is wanted for murder and aggravated assault. The police have discovered the car that Jelks used to flee the scene, which was found abandoned.
In connection with the incident, an alleged accomplice named Sandra Romero-Nunez, 19, has been arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail.
During a news conference, Fayetteville Police Chief Gray stated that the shooting was not a random act of violence and suggested that Jelks and Holton may have had some prior connection. He expressed his shock and concern over the innocent girl being caught in the crossfire, emphasizing that this was an isolated incident in Fayetteville.
Walmart has released a statement expressing their sorrow over the incident and offering condolences to the affected families. They are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.
