The Villa Dale Farm, a third-generation dairy farm owned by the Kendall Family, is deeply saddened by this unfortunate event.
South Annville Township Police Chief Ben Sutcliffe has confirmed that the incident has been ruled as an accidental death. The police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse. In response to this tragedy, the South Annville Township community has come together to support Kendall’s family. A GoFundMe page has been set up, and as of Monday morning, the organizers have already collected over $34,000, surpassing their initial goal of $10,000.
The organizers of the fundraising page expressed their heartfelt sentiments, stating that words cannot adequately honor someone like Bryan. They described him as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Bryan’s life was a testament to God’s grace, as he selflessly served those around him in his home, church, and community. He was known for his strong work ethic and his deep love for farm life.
Emergency crews and hazmat teams responded promptly to the incident on Saturday at 11:33 a.m. The silo rescue operation involved multiple resources, including the Annville Cleona Fire Department, Citizen’s Fire Company of Palmyra, Campbelltown Fire Company, Lebanon County Hazmat, and Lancaster County Rescue Taskforce.
The silo, which stood at a height of 70 feet, had the capacity to hold approximately 600 tons of material. At the time of the collapse, it was completely full.
