Earl Nichols Death, COBB COUNTY, Ga. -The names of the victim and suspect involved in the stabbing at Sprayberry High School have been released by the Cobb County Police Department. Police have identified the victim as 18-year-old Earl Nichols, who sustained multiple stab wounds. He was quickly taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for emergency surgery and is currently in critical condition.
Following the incident, two potential suspects were taken into custody for questioning. Witnesses reported a fight in a school bathroom, during which one of the individuals involved brandished a knife and attacked the victim.
Aedan Smith, aged 17, was identified as the individual in possession of the knife. After being interviewed, he was transferred to Cobb County Adult Detention Center and charged with Aggravated Assault and Carrying a Weapon Within a School Safety Zone.
The police were alerted to the situation at around 11:23 a.m.
Subsequent to the incident, several students contacted FOX 5 to provide additional details. Concerned parents expressed worries about their children’s safety following the occurrence at the school.
