Elizabeth Anderson Obituary – On Tuesday, the police announced that a tragic incident occurred on Monday, resulting in the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a school bus on the main downtown road of St. Thomas. The collision took place at the intersection of Talbot and Manitoba streets, prompting the closure of Talbot Street between Manitoba and Alma streets for a period of time.
Upon arrival, the authorities found the pedestrian with severe injuries, which proved to be life-threatening. The woman was immediately transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. St. Thomas Police spokesperson Samantha Wakefield confirmed that there were four individuals on the school bus during the collision, three of whom were passengers. Wakefield specified that the occupants were high school students and assured that all those involved have been provided with victim services resources for support.
The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Elizabeth Anderson, a 75-year-old resident of St. Thomas. The police are currently conducting an investigation and will release further information as it becomes available. At this time, no charges have been publicly announced by the police.
