James Settle Obituary – James Settle, an 88-year-old man from Kenosha, has been identified by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash near Woodstock. Preliminary findings from an autopsy indicate that Settle’s cause of death was traumatic cardiac arrhythmia and blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen, as stated in a news release from the coroner’s office.
The collision occurred on Thursday at approximately 7:40 a.m. when a 2000 Lincoln Town Car traveling west on Charles Road lost control and collided head-on with a 2014 Hyundai traveling eastbound, according to authorities. Settle, who was driving the Lincoln, was transported to Northwest Hospital but was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Hyundai, a 46-year-old man from Machesney Park, sustained minor injuries in the crash. He received medical treatment at a local hospital and was subsequently released. Both individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
