John A. Butler Obituary, Death – Henrico County police have identified John A. Butler, 39, of Henrico, as the victim of a fatal crash that took place on Mechanicsville Turnpike in eastern Henrico on Friday night. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike at approximately 8:46 p.m. on Friday, where officers responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash. Upon arrival at the scene, Butler was found injured in the roadway and was later pronounced dead by the police.
According to the preliminary investigation, Butler was making a left turn from Mechanicsville Turnpike onto St. Claire Lane when his vehicle was hit by an eastbound vehicle on Mechanicsville Turnpike. Subsequently, Butler’s vehicle spun back into the westbound lanes of Mechanicsville Turnpike and was struck by a second vehicle traveling west. Butler, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the crash also sustained injuries and the incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
