Joshua Jacobie Andrews Death – On Saturday night, a tragic incident occurred on I-85 in Anderson County resulting in the closure of several sections of the highway. A pedestrian was fatally struck by multiple vehicles while walking between mile marker 29 and 30. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed this unfortunate event. The accident took place around 10:45 p.m. and involved a Hyundai Elantra traveling north on I-85, colliding with the individual.
The pedestrian has been identified as Joshua Jacobie Andrews, a 40-year-old resident of Greenville, according to a statement released by the coroner’s office on Sunday morning. The release further stated that Andrews suffered from multiple traumatic injuries caused by blunt force trauma, leading to his untimely demise. Preliminary investigations revealed that Andrews had exited a vehicle near I-85 exit 27 and proceeded to walk into traffic, where he was struck by multiple vehicles.
Regrettably, Andrews could not survive his injuries and passed away at the scene. The coroner’s office mentioned that alcohol may have played a role in the incident, although the exact cause of death is still being investigated.
