Marshall Lawson, Jr, Robert Secviar Obituary, Death – The three individuals who were killed in a potential murder-suicide in Griffith have been identified by authorities in Northwest Indiana. On Friday afternoon, Lake County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 200 block of Colfax in unincorporated Griffith and discovered three men who had been shot. Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office has released the names of two of the deceased individuals: Marshall Lawson, Jr., 69, from Hammond, and Robert Secviar, 53, from Griffith. Preliminary findings suggest that both men died as a result of gunshot wounds in a homicide, although the exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
The third person who lost their life has been identified as John Stefanich, 67, from Highland. While authorities believe that he died from gunshot wounds, they have not disclosed the initial manner of death.
Autopsies for all three individuals are scheduled to be conducted on Sunday.
The sheriff’s department detectives are currently investigating various aspects of the shooting, including the possibility of it being a murder-suicide, as stated by officials on Friday evening.
